According to Jacob & Co., allotted time doesn’t fly, it floats
For the first time in Geneva, the master designers at Jacob & Co. have created an ingenious interpretation of a classic regulator complication, subverting some of the rules of the method in the most striking way.
To keep it simple, a "regulator" is a method of timekeeping (starting with clocks and pocket watches) that separates the functions of hours, minutes, and seconds and displays each function on a separate face on a watch dial.
In fact, due to their inherent accuracy, regulator clocks are often used as real-time references by watchmaking shops, even if they do not produce regulator copy luxury watches themselves.
However, transforming this ancient complication into a luxurious floating power work of art is beyond the reach of ordinary watch brands. No, that’s the job of a brand as eclectic and undisputedly technical as Jacob & Co.

Again, to keep it simple, the new Jacob & Co. Astronomia Régulateur is a 43mm 18k rose gold regulator watch. But, given the house's innovative and decorative tendencies, the "simple" part of its description ends here, as there is much more to the story.
Its floating 3D architecture and signature visual appeal—from component finishes to the vibrant blue and its red and gold colorways—are just the beginning of the extras the Astronomia Régulateur brings to the party. replica Tudor Black Bay
The oversized sapphire faceplate is domed along the top (of course) and curves along the sides of the 18mm-thick case, held in place by the gleaming frame of the red gold case (which features a downward-sloping top flange and an open structure lugs). Think of it like a museum case; it allows you to observe the watch itself.
Still, like all Jacob & Co. timepieces, the Astronomia Régulateur demands closer inspection, a look that reveals some impressive horological innovations to match the clever decoration.
MB&F Unveils Revamped LM Sequential Flyback in Platinum, Elevating Complications
The LM Sequential aesthetically flies back in time and mechanically cruises forward, adding a flyback function to an already impressive portfolio. replica MB&F LEGACY MACHINES Watches
Rarely does watchmaker Stephen McDonnell use the maxim “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, the mastermind behind MB&F’s most complicated timepieces, whose innovative technical breakthroughs make them even more remarkable. Designer of 2015’s LM Perpetual and LM Sequential EVO, fans of MB&F’s fine timepieces will be pleased to know that Stephen McDonnell is back again. This time, McDonnell has elevated the functionality of his award-winning chronograph movement by incorporating a flyback function. However, for this new, enhanced edition of 33 pieces, MB&F has reinterpreted these complications in the more classic Legacy Machine framework. Cased in platinum and with a sky-blue dial, the LM Sequential Flyback is a watchmaking dream.
Released in 2022, the LM Sequential EVO is MB&F’s first chronograph and 20th movement, and it’s stunning in true MB&F style. He invited old MB&F friend and watchmaking wizard Stephen McDonnell to design the LM Sequential EVO, which puts the traditional chronograph to shame. replica watches for sale
Trained as a theologian before becoming a watchmaker, McDonnell’s approach to creating a chronograph movement is quite unique. Rather than asking “how”, his approach is to identify all the situations in which a chronograph might come in handy. It features two column-wheel chronographs linked to the same oscillator that can be started simultaneously, opening a window to countless timing possibilities. To enhance the role of the traditional operating lever, McDonnell equipped the movement with a revolutionary Twinverter switch. The ability to switch instantly between chronograph operating modes increases the versatility of the complication, allowing you to select four different timing modes – independent timing, simultaneous or split-second timing, sequential or lap timing, and cumulative (ideal for timing chess matches) – and reverse the start/stop status of each chronograph. Don’t miss Brice’s in-depth report to see the different applications of these four modes.
With 585 parts, a suspended oversized balance wheel and a variety of chronograph options, MB&F decided to house this extremely complex creature in a more resilient 44mm zirconium EVO case, which is equipped with shock-absorbing dampers and is water-resistant to 80 meters. The watch is hailed as the brand’s outdoor adventure case, and I don’t know many owners of LM Sequential chronographs who would admit to using it for off-road cycling. replica replica RM 27-05 Rafael Nadal
Classic case, flyback movementThe LM Sequential builds on an already incredibly sophisticated movement by adding a flyback function, originally designed for pilots. Developed for pilots in the 1930s, the flyback function or “retour en vol” eliminates the chronograph’s stopping, resetting and restarting phases, which could accumulate and lead to dangerous navigation errors. The flyback function solves this problem, activating the stop, reset and restart with a single, simultaneous press.
But it turns out that the original prototype that MacDonald had designed for the LM Sequential EVO included a flyback mechanism, but it was shelved because more time was needed for development and testing. After two years of testing and absolute secrecy, the LM Sequential Flyback is ready, which means there are now five different timekeeping modes. luxury replica watches
While the dial layout is the same as the LM Sequential EVO, the new watch uses a more classic Legacy Machine case. The 44mm platinum case still features five buttons, is 18.2mm thick, has longer screw lugs, and is brightly polished on the surface, with brushed finish on the case sides. Another notable feature is the engraving of FLYBACK on the lower button. Although the crown is screw-down, the case has a lower water resistance of 30 meters.
LM Sequential Flyback has equipped both chronographs with a flyback function, which operates as follows: the left chronograph is started via the start/stop pusher at 10 o'clock and the reset/flyback pusher at 8 o'clock; the right chronograph operates the same, but with pushers at 2 and 4 o'clock. The fifth pusher on the case at 9 o'clock is the Twinverter or "magic button" that controls both timing systems and acts as a binary switch, reversing the current start/stop status of both. If both chronographs are stopped, pressing the magic button starts them both at the same time, and if they are both running, the Twinverter stops them. Elapsed time is displayed on four subdials: two 30-minute counters at 11 and 1 o'clock, and two larger 60-second counters at 9 and 3 o'clock. replica watches price
A more traditional character is reflected on the dial of the LM, with its impressive balance wheel suspended above four chronograph counters with white lacquered rings and blue hands. Unlike the EVO, the domed white lacquered time subdial at 6 o’clock with Roman numerals is located above the twin chronograph counters, not below them, thanks to a tapered gear, and is angled towards the wearer. The sky-blue mainplate provides a beautiful celestial background.
A movement with two independent chronographs requires a lot of power. Macdonald’s ingenuity solved this problem by using an innovative patented jewel vertical clutch that reduces friction and prevents the flyback from creating a zeroing block. A special jewel roller was developed for the flyback mechanism, allowing the Sequential movement to outperform conventional chronographs in terms of energy efficiency and precision.
The fully integrated twin chronograph flyback manual-winding movement now has 619 components. Nonetheless, it maintains a 3Hz frequency and a 3-day power reserve (power reserve indicator is in the lower part with a blue hand) thanks to the twin mainsprings. The dark bridges (NAC finish) are beautifully decorated and hand-finished, contrasting with the polished bevels and bright rubies. Breitling Avenger Automatic 42 Red Arrows
